2009 Legislative Summaries

The 2009 session of the General Assembly convened on January 28 and adjourned on August 11, lasting 28 weeks. During the session, 2,767 bills were introduced, with 577 session laws and 33 joint resolutions enacted. Governor Perdue exercised her veto power only once, vetoing House Bill 104, Clarify Legislative Confidentiality.

Each year, School of Government faculty and professional staff members produce summaries of legislation of interest to local and state government officials.
